This policy explains what personal data BrightWise collects through brightwiseasia.com, why we collect it, and what your rights are.
Who we are
BrightWise Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202223705W) is run by Nienke (Nina) Benders. Address: #14-04 Singapore Business Federation Centre, Singapore. For anything about your data, including our data protection officer, email contact@brightwiseasia.com.
What we collect and why
- Contact and speaking request forms: your name, email, organisation, message and any event details you give. We use them to reply to you. They are emailed to us and stored in our website database.
- Worksheet and newsletter sign-ups: your first name, last name (worksheet form only), email and the list you joined. We use them to send you the worksheet and, if you asked for it, occasional notes on climate capital (max. once a month). Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Website analytics: we use Google Analytics to see how visitors use the site, such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location.
- Embedded videos: the TEDx talk is embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube only sets cookies once you play the video.
- WhatsApp chat: if you click the chat button, you leave our site and WhatsApp’s privacy policy applies.
Legal basis
For visitors in the EU and UK, we rely on your consent for the worksheet and newsletter emails (you can withdraw it at any time) and on our legitimate interest to answer messages you send us. We only use Google Analytics if you agree to it in our cookie banner.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use these service providers, who process data on our behalf:
- MailerLite (UAB MailerLite, Lithuania) for sign-ups and emails
- GoDaddy for website hosting
- Google for analytics and YouTube
Some of these providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where data leaves the EU, they rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Form messages: up to 2 years after our last contact
- Email list: until you unsubscribe
- Analytics data: 14 months
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to limit or object to how we use it, or to get a copy. Email contact@brightwiseasia.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to a data protection authority, such as the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission or Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Committee.
Cookies
Our site uses cookies that it needs to work, and Google Analytics cookies to measure visits. Analytics cookies are only set after you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time. Our Cookie Policy lists the cookies we use.
